Hat tip to reader Erik the Red for keenly noticing a Rick hidden in his midst.
Per their website:
Our brewmaster, Rick Abitbol, has been professionally brewing award-winning beers along the Front Range for over a decade. Rick is respectful of beer styles and traditional brewing technique, however, he has long been an innovator of style and not afraid to color outside the lines. He was one of the first brewers to explore the Black IPA, which has become a mainstay in breweries and competitions alike. We love our hops! That’s not to say you won’t find any wonderfully malty creations on tap. There are many, but what you will notice is the variety in our hoppy selections. And always be on the lookout for Rick’s newest creations. In addition to brewing some mighty tasty beers, we also remove the gluten from all of our brews. We believe in making great craft beer more accessible to everyone, so we use an enzyme to reduce the gluten in our beers to under 10 ppm. We take great pride in our brewery and our taproom. Please swing by and check it out for yourself.
Their website boasts that they are the smallest brewery in Colorado, and Gluten-Free!
And here we even get a tour with some history of his story
After the jump, there's another interview with Rick himself, homebrewer-turned-businessman. Rick discusses his beer in more detail, including a lot about the gluten piece.
If you're driving around Wheat Ridge, Colorado, let Rick give you a drink (once you pay, of course). And when you go, tell him I like the logo.
And to think, I spent the whole Great Taste last week looking for a Rick-beer angle, only to have EtR find one for me three states away.
ReplyDeleteThanks Erik.
ReplyDeleteI was just driving down Wadsworth and stopped at a light...I look over and see a banner-style sign on part of a small strip mall that said 'Rickoli's'. I had to take a quick (and poor) picture as the light turned green and traffic started to flow.
ReplyDeleteThe legwork to find out it is a microbrewery was done by Paul - and what fantastic news it was! I may very well be stopping by there this evening to check out a pull or two!!!
It will become a mainstay stop of ours when hosting out-of-town guests......just sayin'. (hint, hint)
