It was on this date one year ago that something miraculous happened on the internet. While the whole nation was huddled around their radios and laptops listening to and blogging along with the latest thrilling episode of the now off-air Rock Show, the hosts engaged in a spirited discussion about some Rick-named artists. And then this happened:
...and a blog was born. A blog born for the people, for all of those Ricks out there who never get their voices heard.
We had our naysayers in the beginning. Well, only one person said nay on record:
But we made it through.
Blogs. They grow up so fast. Their motor skills aren't always honed, sometimes they say stupid things, but gosh it's hard not to be proud of them.
Happy Birthday, Rick Show!
In honor of Rick Show's first birthday, I was planning on revisiting the first post.
But then I figured why not have a hidden-camera* DANCE PARTY!!!:
(Many thanks to Brumpelstiltskin for sharing his "I Need Gabe Tonight" video.
p.s. Mitt, this is a better way to act on hidden-camera. I guess it is better to be Latino sometimes.
p.p.s Richard Lowenstein directed the original INXS "I Need You Tonight" video)
*Camera not actually hidden.

What are your favorite moments from Rick Show: Year 1?
Love it!
ReplyDeleteOmg, this is the best thing ever! Gabe, those gyrating hips are gonna get you in trouble one day...
ReplyDeleteEven after being there in person and watching this numerous times, I still can't decide if he notices the camera or not.
ReplyDeleteBravo! A perfect birthday present -- not just to the Rickosphere, but to the entire interweb!
ReplyDeleteWow - it's been a year already? I cannot express my gratitude enough. The Rick Show has meant so much to me. It has cheered me when I was down. It has made me snort with glee at times of glad. Here's to THE platform for all things Rick!!!
ReplyDeleteAlso........Gabe.
ReplyDeleteI like how we egg him on and he seems to suspect nothing.
ReplyDeleteI am fantastic at guest appearances.
ReplyDeleteI'm just glad you got out of the picture, like you were encouraged to do. I was worried for your safety there for a bit
DeleteOMG! Words cannot express how funny this moment was at the party. If I ever need a pick me up during the day, I know what to watch.
