One thing Rick Show has taught me is just how important the name Rick is in the wrestling world. We've already seen Ric Flair and Rick Rude. Now we take a look at Rick "The Model" Martel. Rick Martel was a pro wrestler from the 1970s through 1990s, across a number of organizations. He is also Canadian. It's always crucial to know who is Canadian and who is not. I found this nice "where are they now" article on the WWE website about him, if you want a little more of a personal feel than wikipedia provides.
Rick adopted the "The Model" moniker partway through his career, so it's important to recognize him as a wrestler both with and without it, however it is with it that he made the best promos.

He was also arrogant. Arrogance...
I don't think I could fit that cologne in my medicine cabinet. Otherwise, I would be sprayin me some Arrogance all day.
ReplyDeleteI just don't "get" some of this stuff. Do wrestlers watch these videos they participate in?
ReplyDeleteHey - if I had a tan like that and hair like that....who knows what I'd do.
ReplyDeleteBravo. Would you believe it's taken me five days to comment because that's how long it's taken me to recover from the nostalgia overdose that this video inevitably triggered? Vintage WWF truly is the rick that keeps on ricking...
ReplyDeletep.s. Are we meant to infer that those two ladies were "tying the bootlaces" of The Model?
